Sean Wadey

Sean is an accomplished artist, holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons) and Graduate Diploma of Fine Art from the National Art School. His work explores the intersection of our perception of the natural world and the influence of technology, blending materiality with a fascination for science fiction. Through sculpting, casting, and illuminating techniques utilising 12V lighting systems, Sean transforms earthly materials into captivating, otherworldly textures. His practice envisions a future where nature absorbs and incorporates human creations, resulting in hybrid surfaces that reflect a harmonious integration of the two. Sean's talent and dedication have been recognised through notable accolades, including the Mark Henry Cain Travel Scholarship and being a finalist in respected art awards.
